Fire Safety Training

Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

From the 1st October 2006 all previous fire safety legislation was replaced with one simple order, the Fire Safety Order 2005. All fire safety certificates issued under the Fire Precautions Act 1971 will cease to have an effect. This order applies to all premises and every type of building, structure and open space.

The employer, managing agent, occupier and any other person who has control over a part of the premises must take reasonable steps to reduce the risk from fire and make sure people can escape safely if there is a fire.

To comply an organisation must conduct a fire risk assessment and ensure appropriate hazards are controlled.

Food Hygiene Matters can provide risk assessments and training for Companies requiring assistance in this area.
